About Boston Pizza

Our History
Founded in Edmonton, Alberta in 1964, Boston Pizza has grown into one of Canada's most recognized restaurant brands, with more than 360 locations operating from coast-to-coast-to-coast. The brand's growth accelerated under the leadership of Jim Treliving and George Melville, who acquired Boston Pizza International Inc. ("BPI") in 1983 and expanded the franchise network nationwide. In 2017, as part of a planned succession, Jim Treliving became the sole owner of BPI.
Boston Pizza Royalties Income Fund was established in 2002 and began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol BPF.UN. The Fund earns income based on the franchise sales of Boston Pizza restaurants in its royalty pool, providing investors with an opportunity to benefit from the continued success of the Boston Pizza brand. Today, Boston Pizza remains a proudly Canadian company that has served communities across Canada for more than 60 years.
