The Fund
A limited purpose open-ended trust with a solid track record for investors since its IPO in 2002.
Fund Overview
The Fund is a limited purpose open-ended trust with a proven track record of delivering stable and growing distributions for investors since its IPO in 2002. The Fund earns royalty and distribution income equal to 5.5% of franchise sales (less the pro rata portion payable to Boston Pizza International Inc. in respect of its retained interest in the Fund) from Boston Pizza restaurants across Canada.
Through its royalty structure, the Fund benefits from franchise sales generated by restaurants in the Fund’s royalty pool, which may increase through same restaurant sales growth and net new restaurant openings over time. The Fund’s mandate is to distribute substantially all available cash from operations to unitholders to the maximum extent possible, providing investors with steady, monthly cash distributions.
Key Strengths
TRUSTED CANADIAN BRAND
Boston Pizza is one of Canada’s most recognized restaurant brands with over 60 years of history since its inception in 1964.
DIVERSIFIED REVENUE
The Fund's revenue is derived from the franchise sales of over 360 Boston Pizza restaurants across Canada from coast-to-coast-to-coast. This broad restaurant base helps reduce reliance on any single location, region or franchisee.
PROVEN FRANCHISE MODEL
The franchise system reduces operating risk as the Fund earns royalties based on top-line sales, not profits, meaning it benefits directly from brand performance without operational risk.
MONTHLY CASH DISTRIBUTIONS
The Fund pays monthly distributions to unitholders. Its structure is designed to generate cash flow from restaurant franchise sales and distribute available cash to unitholders.
